Located at Argal Home Farm on the outskirts of Falmouth, Cornwall - my ceramics studio is a bright and creative space to try your hand at ceramics.

My wheel-throwing taster workshops are designed for beginners or those with limited experience who would like to spend a couple of hours trying their hand at a new skill. If you have some prior experience, let me know and the lesson can be adjusted to focus on specific skills.

SATURDAY SESSIONS are available to book for the morning (10.30am - 12.30pm) or the afternoon (3 - 5pm). Sunday classes are available on request.

WEEKNIGHT SESSIONS are available to book on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings 6 - 8pm. Weekday afternoon classes are available on request.

One-One Throwing Workshop: £95.00

Two-Person Throwing Workshop: £140.00, £70.00 Per Person

Prices include 2 finished pots per person from your session.

In your wheel-throwing taster workshop, I will show you how to prepare clay for throwing and, following a short demonstration, I will teach you how to centre clay on the wheel. We will focus on how to throw both a cylinder (coffee or tea tumblers) and a small bowl.

Each student will have their own wheel for the duration of the session. The price of this lesson includes tuition, clay, two separate kiln firings and the additional time it takes to finish your pots after the lesson (trimming and glazing). You can use as much clay as you’d like during your class, but the price includes TWO pots each (chosen by you), from your session to be finished by me: trimmed, bisque fired, glazed and fired again.

Your pots will be ready for collection from my studio 3 - 6 weeks after your class. If you’d like me to post your pottery to you, or if you'd like me to finish and fire more of your pieces, additional costs will apply: £10 per piece for any additional fired pieces on top of your chosen 2.

Aprons and towels will be provided for the duration of the lesson, but please wear clothes you are happy to get a little messy. Long hair must be tied back.

When at the studio you will be able to browse my stock shelves and receive a 10% discount on any pieces available. If nothing takes your fancy you can save your discount to use at a later date online.

After enquiring about a booking using the contact form, I will be in touch within 2 working days with more details and specific directions to the studio. Plenty of free parking is available at the farm, please do get in touch if you have any questions regarding accessibility or any other requirements. The minimum age for classes is 16 and students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Cancellation policy : A full refund can be issued up to 14 days prior to the date of the class. In the case of illness, please contact me a full 24 hours before your class and we can reschedule for another date when you have recovered.
